Pearl 2004 upgrade usb.

Postby Vévé » 07 Oct 2018, 12:16

Hi guys,

I have pearl 2004 and I changed the floppy disk by a usb port. I use 1G usb stick but the console don't see any fixtures files that I copy on it.
I can save and load a show from the usb but not the console don't see the R20 files.
What am I missing? I think I'm close but I don't see what to do.
I've read all the forum to find answers..

Thanks a lot..

I guess you either used the wrong files, or put the files in the wrong location. For the Pearl 2004 all the R20 files must be directly in the root of the drive. That's why there were several disks you could download and extract, each one to a separate disk. Make sure in the root of your usb drive are all the R20 files, together with the SG.DAT, and the SAPPRL.LST

What SG.DAT and SAPPRL.LST are and where can I find it?

They are included with the personalities - simply download the zipped disk contents, start this program on your computer, and point it to the USB drive as target. This then copies all the files to the drive.

I’ve round the SAPPRL file on a folder but note the SG.DAT. The only SG file I’ve found is a video file. Is it this one ?

It's not a video file but it's possible your operating system is saying it is due to file associations. It might be helpful to change your system settings so that you can see file extensions.

Can you post an image? I believe the most important thing is that all the files are in the root of the stick. SG.DAT is required for the shapes. Again, can you please post a picture?

For me it looks like this:

You need to run the installers (apsdisk55.exe and apsdisk73.exe) to extract the personality files (.R20).

It seems now that my console can’t se the usb stick. It load fixture with it’s internal memory (witch by the way I don’t Knowles How to reach.
I think it happened when I try to patch a fixture but it doesn’t work. Maybe a corrupted file :?
Will try with floppy disk to see if it works.
