A query regarding workspace button appearance.
I have a show created in Titan One and have imported it into Titan Mobile. I have a workspace window which only has button size & text size as available options when I select the "cog".
In other workspace windows, when I select "cog" there are two other options for rows and columns. This is the case whether I look at the Titan One show or the Titan Mobile show. The only difference (and the reason I started looking at this) is that the workspace window is only two grid columns wide and in Titan one the button fills the full width of the workspace, but in Titan Mobile the button is very small and unreadable. The workspace is "Active Playbacks"
The questions are:
why are the button sizes different when imported to Titan Mobile?
Why do the options for row & column not appear when selecting the Cog option?
How can I alter the size of the buttons in Titan Mobile to fill the available width of the column?
On a similar subject, I am unsure how to save a workspace. I have done this plenty of times in Titan One but for Titan Mobile the manual instructions (13.2.4 ) say press window Open then record workspace. I have the option of Open Workspace Window but only have one spare position appearing in the grid of workspaces to the left of the menu buttons and when I press it, nothing happens. In Titan one the button would turn red and offer "record workspace".
The other issue is that I have a bank of workspace window buttons on the left of the screen (1-12) and half of the workspaces that appear here in Titan One are missing in Titan Mobile. If I press open workspace and press one of these empty buttons they still don't turn red to enable me to save a workspace layout.
Hope I have not put too much information in here to confuse the issue.
All help much appreciated.

Re: Button appearance
I think it has something to do with the way windows scale depending on resolution. In TitanOne it will be slightly different to Titan Mobile because of the different layouts. I see the same thing and the difference here is surprising - I can only assume it's a quirk of the maths used.watty wrote:why are the button sizes different when imported to Titan Mobile?
These options haven't been implemented for the Active Playbacks window. I'm unsure if this was deliberate but I can't see any particular reason given that the handles are pretty much the same as in the Playbacks window except for the source location detail at the top. I will add a task to review.watty wrote:Why do the options for row & column not appear when selecting the Cog option?
Unfortunately it looks like the only option at the moment is to resize the window and/or button text size until it works best. Sadly the button size option was also broken. All being well this will be fixed in the next version.watty wrote:How can I alter the size of the buttons in Titan Mobile to fill the available width of the column?
There are three ways I can think of to record a workspace:watty wrote:On a similar subject, I am unsure how to save a workspace. - - Quick record (double tap an empty workspace handle)
- VIEW/OPEN, [Record Workspace], select destination workspace handle or input number/<enter> (if handle is occupied [Cancel] or [Replace Workspace])
- Shift+VIEW/OPEN (shortcut to the Record Workspace option), select destination workspace handle or input number/<enter> (if handle is occupied [Cancel] or [Replace Workspace])
There should be twelve although if there isn't enough space it will dynamically reduce. What is your display resolution? Note that you can always store and recall numerically if you need more than can be displayed. There is a proposal to add a workspace shortcut window to provide extra flexibility - hopefully this will be possible in a future version. In the meantime an alternative might be to use the [Groups And Palettes] window where you can also record workspace shortcuts. This is primarily intended to represent the Pearl Expert grey preset buttons and does not have any options for button size but maybe it will be useful.watty wrote:The other issue is that I have a bank of workspace window buttons on the left of the screen (1-12) and half of the workspaces that appear here in Titan One are missing in Titan Mobile. Regarding empty workspace handles not turning red (first part of a quick record) I wonder if you are in the View menu (accessed by pressing OPEN/VIEW)? Currently you cannot quick record from here.
In case you're not aware note that to delete or move workspace shortcuts you need to ensure you are in the View menu first (for example VIEW/OPEN then DELETE <handle>/<handle>). This ensures you can use workspace shortcuts during normal operation (for example you might press delete and then need to recall a window layout to access the item you want to delete.
Re: Button appearance
I have looked at this in a bit more detail. On my Titan One System I have a workspace window called "workspaces" which I have located on the left of my screen as a single column down the screen. This has the option of two banks of 12 handles. If I double tap any of the 24 empty handles, I can record a new workspace there. I can't remember how I set this up as it was some time ago. I have 10 handles populated.
This has not carried through to Titan Mobile and all I can see are 11 handles next to the menu buttons (I have added one which is why there are 11). Is it possible to add a workspace which contains all the workspace handles as I had in Titan One?
The fact that I am unable to record workspaces does in fact appear to be down to user profile settings. I have recently changed the user profile (was while testing something out) and can't work out how to get it back to a different profile although I have only just realised this after reading your comments so I have not spent much time trying to rectify this.
There would appear to be a different set of events possible depending on if I use the console button to "open Window" (as the manual is probably referring to in 13.2.4) and using the soft key button on screen. Therefore because I am using the wrong user profile and have been using the soft key I have caused confusion regarding some of the recording issues as previously mention.
So in short, the main problem is an inability to set/obtain buttons on screen that are large enough to be able to read their legends.
I am also wondering where the "View" button has gone. On Titan One there is an on screen view button. I am unable to find the equivalent of this in Titan Mobile. I am probably missing something really obvious but am confused as to what/where view is as mentioned in your previous answers.
This has all got a bit messy now so probably best if I deal and resole one thing at a time.
Thanks for all the help. Much appreciated.

Re: Button appearance
Sorry forgot - Screen resolution is 1920 x 1080.
Re: Button appearance
The workspace shortcut locations are currently hard coded and cannot be adjusted. The location varies depending on the console. In TitanOne and the Sapphire Touch they are arranged as a vertical column on the side of the screen. In other consoles (including the Titan Mobile) they are arranged in a 3x4 grid between the wheel display and context menu areas. As far as I am aware it has always been this way and they are predefined with 12 handles although the number displayed can reduce depending on screen resolution. As I mentioned in my previous post a separate workspace shortcut window has been proposed to provide more flexibility and hopefully this will be possible in a future version. Are you sure about the two banks/24 handles? I will attach a couple of screenshots of how it looks from a new show on my display here (1920x1200):watty wrote:I have looked at this in a bit more detail. Edit Key Profile,[Options],[Quick Record Enabled]watty wrote:The fact that I am unable to record workspaces does in fact appear to be down to user profile settings. Selecting the [Open Workspace Window] softkey from the root menu takes you to a softkey menu where you can open all the various windows. The OPEN/VIEW key opens the 'View' menu where you can access [Window Options] (allows you to select, move, resize and close windows - useful if they are not currently in view or if you cannot access the cog icon), [Record Workspace], recall numeric workspace shortcut as well as providing another route to [Open Workspace Window]. You can also use this as a shortcut to opening various windows. For example OPEN/VIEW, PATCH will open Patch View, VIEW GROUP will open the Groups window etc.watty wrote:There would appear to be a different set of events possible depending on if I use the console button to "open Window" (as the manual is probably referring to in 13.2.4) and using the soft key button on screen. Try changing the text size.watty wrote:So in short, the main problem is an inability to set/obtain buttons on screen that are large enough to be able to read their legends.
The labelling varies depending on console. On the Titan Mobile it is called 'Open' on the laminate and is grouped under 'Window Controls' along with 'Min/Max', 'Size/Pos' and 'Close'.watty wrote:I am also wondering where the "View" button has gone. Re: Button appearance
Additional workspace shortcuts can be stored in some of the workspace windows, the executor buttons on the Titan Mobile or stored with just a user number. All the workspaces in a show can be accessed via the Show Library window, you can use this window to apply workspaces or copy/move them to other workspaces or physical buttons.
Re: Button appearance
Hi Niclights, you queried if I am sure about 2 banks of 12 workspaces. This is indeed not the case and the left column workspace window in Titan One has 12 handles. I was getting mixed up between the workspace window and a playbacks window that has 2 x 12 banks of pages.
As far as the button size goes, I am using two identical touchscreens with Titan One on one & Titan Mobile on the other and the Active playbacks window on both is two grid columns wide on both. Titan One buttons are set to Global and fill the full width of the two columns. In Titan Mobile the button is very small and nothing I do will increase the size of it. If I make the text small then more fits on the button but is so small I can hardly read it. Changing the button size does nothing and the button stays the same - small. You may have confirmed this earlier??

Re: Button appearance
Yes, unfortunately the button size in the Active Playbacks window is broken. The reason they are different is because of the difference in layouts, the resulting size and the maths used to calculate the button size. The grid is always 12x8 but in the TitanOne there is less space available than in Titan Mobile as you can hopefully see from the screenshots above. I was thinking more along the lines of increasing the text size rather than reducing it, given that you said you were having trouble reading the legends.
Re: Button appearance
If I increase the text size for a legend of say two eight character words, I can only see about two or three characters. This is still the case if I increase the window to maximum size as the maximum button size is still only twice as large as a two column window button. I have also noticed that all playbacks appearing in the active playback window appear to start with "4:" if fired by a fader and "1:" if fired by a playback handle in the playbacks window. What is the significance of the number?
Re: Button appearance
I'm not sure. I wondered that myself. I had assumed it was page number but in my initial tests it didn't change. Either it's something else or it's not working properly.
Re: Button appearance
The number is the page number however for playback faders it is displaying the page numbers as they would be on the Pearl Expert so pages 1 and 2 are both shown as 1 and pages 3 and 4 are both shown as 2.
Re: Button appearance
Thanks guys for the info on the numbers that appear on the active playback buttons. Obviously they are a waste of time on Titan Mobile or Titan One unless they reflect something of real meaning. Can they be removed or altered to match the true page numbers - although I am not sure what they should say when firing playback window handles - probably in that instance they should be absent.
Also, hopefully from previous comments, the issue of the non scaleable button size in the active playback window can be addressed (10.1), It would be a great help as I am unable to read the button legends at the moment so not much use as is - they are OK in Titan One running 9.1!
I purchased Titan Mobile to gain extra channels but so far I prefer the operation of Titan One. Hopefully things will improve.
