Shape generation question

Postby chien0721 » 10 Sep 2017, 11:49

I have been wondering the difference between dimmer spread and dimmer saw in shape generator of dimmer section.
I really cannot tell the difference with my eyes when I apply either of the shape on LED par.
Can anyone explain the difference of these two movement?
Thanks!

'Dimmer Spread' uses a (co)sine wave pattern to modify whereas 'Dimmer Saw' uses a triangle. With a sine wave the extremes are softened/slowed (ie. ease-in/ease-out). With a triangle they are linear. In the same way 'Pan/Tilt Swing' uses the sine wave and Pan/Tilt Saw' uses the triangle.
