Hi, I have a Borris 1 Pearl serial No. PRL 094 and am wondering what I can do with it software and hardware wise to bring it to 2004 spec. On the outside it has a VGA connector but this is connected to a flying lead inside the desk not attached to anything - there doesn't appear to be a graphics card (is this a standard part I can buy?). The DMX connectors only have pins 1,2 and 3 connected, so is there any way to get four universes with this board? GALs: I have found Victor, Lara, Yuri, Pasha, Tonya and Katia02. The extended memory module is present dated 30/10/01 which presumably is when it was last seen by Avo. In 'Service' the desk shows Pearl 2004 v1.2 Jul 11 2005. Is there anything else I can do to asses the health of this console, apart from just using it, and is this as up to date as it can be?
Obviously given its age I am not wanting to spend a fortune on it so I guess this rules out a motherboard change?
Many thanks!

Re: Borris 1 Pearl
Just to update I spoke to Avo about this and got answers to the technical questions - graphics card has most likely been removed to stop a common crashing issue at some point in the past and now difficult to source replacements. No facility for keyboard connection on Borris 1, and it does appear to be possible to wire pins 4 and 5 on the DMX connectors to get all four universes. The desk is running the latest possible software same as a 2004.
However - I'm still interested to hear opinions/experiences with these Borris 1 Pearls... if in good condition are they generally reliable?
