Problem with chase speed
I have pearl 2000 with 2004 soft. And the problem is when I TAP a speed for chase it will be much faster than it should be. I. e. when I tap the speed is 0,4 sec but really it is about 0,6.
I don't use the TAP button, so I've not really noticed this before...
The post caught my curiosity so I got out a metronome, set it to 100BPM which in a 4/4 time signature each beat will last 600ms. Tapping in sync to each beat and the chase runs at 400ms/step. WHAT?
I could make it run in time to my metronome by manually slowing the chase down, guess what it read when in time...600ms
The only time a step should last 400ms at 100BPM is with a time signature of 6/4...so...it must be something to do with how The Pearl is counting between each button press. I thought this was covered in a previous thread, but I couldn't find it.
This explains why only certain BPM's are allowed

but that isn't what the OP's question was about.
Now I'm confused!
Regards,
Andy

Unless, it's a to do with maxed out keyboard scanning and/or overworked CPU. I hope it's fixable, seems a bit daft to offer Tap tempo entry, when it's too inaccurate to use.

Problems with chase speeds
Hi - for what it's worth, I noticed this and posted a thread about it on the Blue Room here: http://www.blue-room.org.uk/index.php?showtopic=12924 finding that others had the same problem. Glad to hear it's been flagged up!
