Titan net processor - backup connection

Postby yanlingg13 » 27 Oct 2015, 05:34

Hi all!

Currently we have 2 Titan net processor linked to our consoles.
Everything is linked to a network switch and all set to same IP range but different ID. (eg. 192.168.100.20, 192.168.100.30...)
Here's the scenario:
Console 1 - Main console
Console 2 - Backup console
TNP 1 - Main TNP to expand DMX lines and run the show
TNP 2 - Backup TNP for standby in case TNP 1 fails.

How do I connect both up to make this work?
We have tried the following method but none works:
-At DMX settings> Titan net overview, assign both TNP to the same universe (etc line 9-16)
By doin this way, when TNP 1 fails, TNP 2 doesn't send out any signals and lights cant be controlled anymore.

Console was set to Multi-user and backup.
Please help

At the moment there is no way to achieve an active backup. Only a passive backup is possible The best approach is to run them as seperatetly systems loading the show into both. You can then use DMX merge to merge any outputs onto the backup system using the physical outputs from that TNP.
