I am just working on an Avolites Pearl 2000 with a Boris 2 motherboard. It is known to have faders need replacing and has not been used in a long while. It has required a new power supply. It boots up, the motherboard LED display says OK. There is no LCD display. a monitor plugged into the video card shows 1-30 channels and if I move faders it displays the intensity going up on a few channels 1-10 and channel 12.
So I think the motherboard is ok - but does this look like a common fault? has the board with the lcd packed in? non of the buttons on the bottom right has any lights on. Just wondering how best to proceed from here
many thanks for any help

Might just be a ribbon cable that needs reseating. Have you checked contrast pot is turned up? Sounds silly but 9 times out of 10 this is reason for empty screen. If there's no backlight is different problem.

Thanks for that. yes all ribbon cables checked and brightness / contrast up. I suspect as it needed a new power supply, it may have taken out some caps. None are obviously gone, but I'll get testing them I think.. if anyone has any other suggestions greatly received

Easier than I thought - ribbon cable clean up with compresed air - lots of fluff inside, so desk up and running.
Now the only faders that work are 2,3,4,5 and 12, I can;t get any others to do anything upto 60
IS it really possible that all these faders need replacing? or can be another fault?
