RDM

Postby grahamrobertslx » 01 Mar 2015, 10:41

I'm trying to get to grips with RDM but failing at every hurdle. I have a TTpro that doesn't have RDM compatible DMX cards, so I've tried running artnet to a Powercube to try and use RDM over artnet but that doesn't work. I've tried pluging a robe pointe into the TT via artnet and I have no joy. Tried plugging the pointe into the DMX output of the Powercube but nothing.

Where am I going wrong or should I just give up.

Looking at buying a RDM compatible artnet node but don't want to buy one if the TT doesn't support RDM over ArtNet

I don't know much about RDM myself but is it enabled in the fixture ? I don't know if the fixture can turn it on/off or not but check there ?

As far as I am aware RDM is only supported over ArtNet.

This might be a problem with the personality. The Pointe personality doesn't currently have any RDM information in it. What happens if you use the 'Full Discover' option when connected to the Power Cube?

I can confirm that Avo->Ethernet cable->Pointe does not deliver RDM information.
Avo->Ethernet cable->RDM enabled node->DMX Cable->Pointe works fine. Confirmed working on Sapphire, Expert and Mobile with Luminex Node 8 MKii.
