I've just plugged in my new Titan Mobile to my laptop - a MacBook Pro running Windows 7 Pro SP1 (fully up to date) and new install of Titan PC Suite 8.1 - just the Titan Mobile application - when I plug in the desk and start Titan I get a message "Please ensure you have inserted an Avolites Titan dongle". When I look in device manager I can see an Avolites branch with 3 things - TM-DMX, TM-MB and WinDriver.
Please can someone help me with this...I'm very disappointed right now!!!

Re: New Titan Mobile not recognised by PC
Ok, so I ran USB Expert Console which told me the Mobile needed updating, followed the procedure to update but the messages said the update failed...then the desk connected and I've now activated it with the temporary license.
Weird.
I hope I don't have this sort of hassle in the middle of a show...or just before a show...or anytime again!!!

Hi Nigel,
congrats to your new Mobile, and sorry for the initial inconvenience. However, you may rest assured. You stumbled upon two minor issues, which happen only under certain circumstances, and onle with new consoles:
- every now and then, the firmware needs to be updated (which usually comes with a new software). However, for logistical reasons, it might happen that some consoles are already on the shelves, waiting for shipment, which none just unpacks again and updates.
- and totally independend from that, sometimes the USB Expert says the firmware update failed, albeit indeed it was successfull. Just check that the version date (under the Info tab) reads 'Jan 21 2014'. Also, Titan Health Check can be used to check this.
In any case, these issues will not happen during your show.
And finally: a few days ago, Titan version 8.1 was released. It's recommended to update your software (and no, this does NOT include another firmware upgrade for the mobile

Re: New Titan Mobile not recognised by PC
I guess I found the reason for issue #2: In normal operation, the Mobile shows two boards in USB Expert - and USB Expert attempts to upgrade them both, the DMX panel, and the Mobile panel. In order to upgrade, it switches them to Boot mode. However, there is no Boot mode for the DMX panel, since the DMX panel is merely an appendix to the Mobile panel. And that's the reason why the error occurs. Now, if you ignore the error, USB expert proceeds with updating the Mobile panel (which inherently updates the DMX panel as well) - and finally all is good. I admit this is irritating. Maybe the software guys can resolve this in a future USB Expert version.
