Sapphire Touch Unknown buttons

Postby StijnS » 18 Apr 2014, 21:07

Hello everybody,

We just received our brand new Sapphire Touch. We are really happy with it, but have some questions about it.

First of all:
On the left side of the desk (behind the grey border) is a big black button. Does anyone know what this button is used for? Also on the top side, on the left side of "Fix -1" is an empty white button. Is there also a purpose for this one?

What we also noticed: I have patched some fixtures on the bottom row of faders. When I set a level on the faders, move to another page, and come back to the original page the faders stay at zero, but the fixtures remain on. Is there an option to have the faders display the fixture intensity?

Kind regards,

Stijn

Hello,

The black button on the side of the Sapphire Touch is to isolate the UPS battery of the console. It is unlikely that you will ever need it, however if you did need to completely power off the console, after disconnecting the external power supply you can press this button instead of waiting for the battery to discharge.

The white button next to the Fix -1 button currently has no purpose. It was put in to make the buttons line up with the 6 wide blocks of buttons above.

We are working on recording the fader level for fixtures in version 8.0 so that the fader should return to the same level as before when changing the page. We have looked into showing the fixture level in the past but have left it out due to concerns about performance, however this was several years ago so it may be worth revisiting this.

Hi Gregory,

Thanks for your reply! Now I can finally sleep peacefully without wondering about mysterious buttons.
And you made me even more impatient about v8... The demo at PLS already looked great, and the moving faders would make it even better.

Kind regards,

Stijn
