Hello. I'm trying to patch an ADJ scanner (DJ Scan 250HP), but the scanner requires dip switch #1 to be "on" for dmx operation. How do I patch it when the Titan software uses the first 9 dip switches for the address?

If there are 10 dip switches then most likely the first will be DMX mode on/off then the following switches will be 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128 and 256. So when setting the address ignore the first dip switch.

As far as I can tell from the fixture manual the dip switches are normal and should be set as suggested in Titan (ie. left-most dip = 1).
The EX fixture already in the library was not really compatible. I have created the HP as requested and have mailed it to you in advance of it being uploaded to the library. However, as I mentioned in the email, the fixture has no physical dimmer and there is therefore no way to overcome this in software.

Thanks Niclights. You're right, there's not a physical dimmer. My mistake. And there are alot of differences, including the number of channels. Thanks so much for the personality. I can't wait to check it out tomorrow!

It's still not working. I tried it with the left-most dip switch at 1 and the right-most switch at 1, as with the Hamsters, but neither works. The scanner may be broken. It was hiding in a closet when I found it. It was a good try, though. Unless you have any other ideas, I'm just going to move on.

According to the manual here the right-most dip switch (10) enables stand-alone mode. This should be set to off. The other switches set the DMX address. If you have patched to start address 001, then dip switch 1 should be on, all the others should be off.

Can't patch it at address 001. Got 8 ADJ Mega Pixel LED bar lights starting there. That's why I was trying to figure out if I set switch 1 to "on" and then address it as it is patched from switch 2, or switch 10 is "on" and start from 1. But, neither one worked.

There is nothing in the manual that says you need to set dip switch 1 to the on position for DMX. It shows standard dip switches as follows:
1 = 1
2 = 2
3 = 4
4 = 8
5 = 16
6 = 32
7 = 64
8 = 128
9 = 256
The tenth dip switch enables stand-alone (ie. sound-light or built-in programs). This must be set to off for DMX.
I can't tell you what you need to use as I don't know what mode you have the Mega Pixel LED's in, or if the addresses are contiguous etc. But it's easy to work out. The combination of 9 switches allows you to get any number from 1 - 511. You just turn on the switches to add up to the patched address. The ones suggested in the dip-switch tab of fixture view in Titan should be correct. Just make sure you leave the tenth switch off.

So it does. I really don't think they mean that though. Not only would it conflict with the 'stand-alone on dip 10', but it also contradicts the information on page 6 where it states dip 1 = 1, dip 2 = 2 etc. I'm sure it should be just normal settings with 10 off. If that doesn't work try a phase reverse on the line. If it still doesn't work contact ADJ!

I can confirm that everybody is correct - the DMX switches and standard, I have a unit here in my workshop.
All switches set to off then set your address from left let to right
(there is a small on-line calculator you can use http://www.sabretechnology.co.uk/calc.asp)
to help. The one have here works on my mobile and its wired with pin 3 +, 2- and 1 screen as standard convention.

Great. And to answer the previous question it means something that swaps pins 2 and 3 in one end of a DMX line. Some devices use pin 3 hot (+), some pin 2. As SLS has confirmed the ADJ is pin 3 hot it should work connected straight to the console as this is the same standard as Avo (and most manufacturers these days) use. It does actually detail this in the manual too but the relevant text didn't render when I was viewing it on another machine.
I've looked at the showfile you sent and can see you only have the one 250 scan patched at 276. So, to be clear, the dip switches should be 3,5,9 on, all others off. Some fixtures need to be powered off/on before the dip settings take. If doesn't work try patching individual dimmers to check it's not a personality thing. If it still doesn't respond try connecting directly to the console without any other fixtures.
Incidentally I noticed your showfile is huge (6MB). I suspect this is because of the images imported for fixture legends which might have been high resolution? Ideally the software should reduce the size but I don't think that's possible at the moment. The reason I mention, other than taking up unnecessary amounts of storage space, is that I notice some lag when selecting fixtures. I will put this in the system for further investigation but in the meantime it might be a good idea to try and use smaller ones.
Love the idea though. It would be quite neat if we could include thumbnails like that in the factory personality files. Hmmm....!
