Personality problem?

Postby FireInTheSky » 01 Apr 2013, 22:40

Hi,

I'm using a Pearl 2004 with some GoLight Beam 200 fixtures (profile). When I apply a pan/tilt shape to the fixtures, they are incredibly twitchy, and the shape is unrecognizable. If I program a p/t chase instead, the movement is perfectly smooth. I plugged the same fixtures into my laptop running TitanOne, and patched them using the Titan version of the personality, and the pan/tilt shape is also perfectly smooth. Is this a problem with the desk itself, or just with the .R20 profile?

Thanks.

I can't see any reason why this would be personality related. Do shapes work ok with other fixtures?

Unfortunately, I don't have any other movers at the moment to test that. Could it be an issue with 8-bit vs. 16-bit attributes? For instance, maybe the fixture is expecting 16-bit, but the personality is telling the console to output 8-bit, or vice-versa?

I don't see anything wrong with the personality, or any difference between the r20 and d4 files. Given it fades ok without shapes this suggests the personality matches the fixture.

Try loading a new shapefile (system/utilities) from any of the standard personality disks and then reset the console.

Loaded the new shapefile and it seems like everything is working. Thanks! I guess it must have gotten corrupted somehow...
