2 Windows on same screen

Hey guys

I'm running my TiMo on a 20" All-in-One pc.

Is it possible to send the "second/external screen output" to a new window on my 20" ?

With 20" I could easily have 2 windows side by side and then have 2 windows with 4 areas of palettes/playbacks/Visualiser/fixtures/groups/etc


Have any of you tried this ?

If you trick your computer into believing a second display were connected, then you would have the second Titan window, which you of course could resize and move to the main screen.

I don't know if this is exactly handy...

That's what I'm thinking of...

But don't know how to trick my pc to "see" an external screen without actually adding an external screen.

There are no VGA/HDMI outs on the All-in-one, but that could be fixed with an USB-to-VGA adaptor.

I'd strongly vote against the USB-to-Graphics thing. Tried this myself a while ago - it made Titan hang, what I really can understand. Titan relies on proper graphic hardware, and hates unknown USB devices.

Will try to do it on the All-In-One tomorrow, and will let you know. On my notebook, at least I could force it into outputting it on a second output even without having something attached, and subsequently could make the second window appear. But again, I don't know if this works without even a separate graphics output.

I definitely won't go the USB-VGA way then

Couldn't get SplitView to work as I wanted.

It can split the screen in many ways.
But can't see the "virtual screen" in Windows Display Manager.


I tried MaxiVista but also no luck with that.

I guess you'd need something like a 'virtual graphic card' which tells the computer there is another graphic output. There are some tools like this which are used by gamers. No idea if this will work. Will try tomorrow.

Tried... and failed. No luck. Amongst the things I tried are ZoneScreen and Maxivista. But even if some software registers as second graphic card, it won't be active unless a client connects via network. So, no luck.

I have now tried several programs saying that they could fake an external monitor, but without any luck )o;


You wrote that if I could open the Second Window on an external monitor, I could drag the Second Window over to the Primary Monitor.
Putting the 2 windows side by side on my 20" screen.


Wouldn't that mean that if I had a USB-VGA adaptor,
I could open the Second Window on Secondary Monitor,
drag the window to Primary and then the usb-vga wouldn't have
any content and therefore shouldn't slow down Titan?

If a second display is present then a second window would open and you can then move it to the primary and resize etc. There might be a way to just get it to open without the second display. I will try to find out for you.
