playbacks

Postby eskimak » 06 Aug 2005, 22:20

It'll be nice to be able to run a playback on another roller's page without turning off program running on the same fader... so possibly 150 simultaneously running playbacks.
When need to stop some program, just roll the roller to a requested page and turn down the fader.

hmmm so
for example on page A fader 4 is running at 30% and i go to page B to run fader 4 with other chase.
Put the fader to zero and up to right level sauy 80% to activate B4.
how do i exactly adjust fader A4 to 35%?

without moving it from 80% to 35%....

maybe automatic faders is the solution... :D

faders

I think this feature could be switch off/on in user settings.
But the best will be motorized playback faders.

Much as this would be nice, I think this really is the stuff of dreams (or at least of a D4!), regardless of how it might be implemented or how incredibly confusing it would be.
IMO it is most important that chase speed/accuracy as well as button press response times are maintained and, as I pointed out in another thread, the Pearl is already struggling in terms of processing power.

why it would be problem?

Postby eskimak » 08 Aug 2005, 10:10

I think motorizet faders are used in much more cheaper consoles than Pearl - some audio mixing consoles (Yamaha o1v, behringer DDX3216, ...) - for example O1V costs about 2500 eur, DDX3216 maybe less then 800 Eur - so where's the problem? It means that those faders are not so expensive that couldn't be used in Pearl.
