Working to scale.

Postby Pheamer » 02 Nov 2006, 11:04

Hi guys,

Can someone tell me the best way doing a rig etc to scale on visualliser.

I load up my blank inches theatre file and then want to put up two forty foot trusses or whatever. I cant gauge the scale of the whole thing without a grid in place or something. Any idea's. tips or tricks?

Any suggestions appreciatted.

Use blank mm, then every 1000mm = 1 meter. Seeing truss comes in meter lenghts.
Dont bring an idiot with you, you'll always find one when you get there!.

Sounds like your not using real life dimensions in theatre properties and /or real life dimensions for object properties.

Just in case you're not doing this...

In design mode, right click INSIDE the theatre walls to open theatre proprieties and set some realistic dimensions. If you are using a blankinches theatre then, obviously the units are in inches.

To add a 40' truss (open new truss properties) - set the dimensions before selecting 'add one'.
Again, if units are in inches, a 40' truss will require a width of 480. Be sure to set the SIZE W, D and H i.e. the 3rd row down.

If you use real dimensions, then the displayed scale will be correct.
