Hey all,

I'm wondering if I can hook up my pearl 2k to the vis/sim programs. I have an oldskool pearl 2k with the Large type serial connection for Graphics tablet/stage remote. I am thinking of getting the Macbook and using the RS232 to USB. Is there an adaptor to enable me to hook up with my desk?

AFAIK connection will be via DMX. Serial port is input device (Graphics Tablet/Riggers Remote).

To run the Visualiser in your PC and move it from your Pearl 2000 you must use a

Visualiser MIDI to RS232 Serial Cable Ref: 1808-0013

and connect it between the midi IN/OUT of the desk and the RS232 serial connection of you PC.

If your PC is a new laptop without RS232 serial connection you will need an

USB to 9 Way Serial Converter Cable for Laptops without a com port Ref: 1808-0050

Don't forget to enable the Visualiser under USER SETTINGS through the Midi line.

If you want to control the Pearl2000 from the Pearl Simulator on your PC this is not possible at the moment, but everything that you edit and program on the PC you can save it as a show on a floppy disk and open it after on the real desk. If your Pearl 2000 is running the Pearl 2004 v1.2 software the show will be perfectly compatible.
