This drove me nuts for a while - not to mention being a little scary...
Whilst recoding chases ( on a Pearl) and being connected to Vis (ie Visualiser enabled), data in some steps was being 'lost'; it appeared to be random - if I re-recorded the chase, a different step would loose its data. The step was still present in UNFOLD - just empty.
Disabling Vis (MIDI-Disabled) returned normal operation every time.
It's no secret that using the MIDI/Vis function slows the desk down - but for it to impede functionality is quite dramatic.
It would be good if someone could try this - just for confirmation.
Cheers,
Andy

The above problem turned out to be the desk just not keeping up.
It slowed so much because of the Vis connection, that some fader levels were not being recorded into the step by the time I pressed the playback swap to advance the step. So it was being recorded as an empty step.
Just slowing the button presses down a little (lightning fingers, you see) and the problem stopped.
Oh good.
Regards,
Andy
