Jarag5 and Visualiser

Postby kox » 03 Mar 2013, 10:59

Hey Avo freeks

I'm working on a show where I'm using 16 pcs Jarag5's.

Is it possible to se the Jarags in Visualiser as in real life?
5x5 bulbs controlled individually.

Hope anyone has a positive answer :o)

The answer is semi-positive :D

It doesn't work 'out of the box'. However, you can use the single dimmer fixture in visualiser, use many of them, and possibly group them together. Sounds more work than it actually is. The only thing which will not work is the Jarag Macro thing - but I guess you won't use it anyway.

Indeed. I have done this successfully myself a number of times. The way I do it is to make use of the x & y offset values when adding the fixtures. That way you can get a nice neat grid. Given the limited facilities in Vis it is time-consuming but it does work once you've completed.

Note that in my experience as you add more and more dimmers it might become sluggish. The solution is to save the theatre, restart vis, load and carry on. I recommend saving theatres regularly with unique names too just in case.

Maybe I should found out how to connect my TiMo setup to my Wysiwyg.
Do you guys know if I need ACDI or how it's done ?

You don't need ACDI - just Art-Net.

Depending from which Wyg version you're using, you might need the Wygalizer, which is the Art-Net connector for Wysiwyg. It's a separate download, free of charge, from Luminex, which is integrated into Wysiwyg since autumn last year (don't know the exact revision number).

Unfortunately, that's almost all I can say - don't have much experience with that.
