Pearl 2004 & Visualiser Patching

Hi All

I've been doing a little programming on the visualiser over the weekend.

I extracted the show data to the disk then transferred it on to the Pearl 2004. Whilst the disk is loading it comes up with an error - It says RO_Rb300ES3 not found - It's a Robe Robin 300E Spot Mode 3.

I want to transfer the show patch from Vis across to the Pearl to save time etc etc....

Am I right in thinking .csv show patch file doesn't hold all the fixture profiles as well?

If this is the case will I need to build a new cache on the console in order for it to recognise the fixture? Or am I over complicating it?

Would it work by adding the .r20 file onto the show disk as well?

Also I've now gone back into my saved theatre to add some more fixtures.
When I double click on the new fixtures it crashes.....not had this before!

Many thanks

Jim

Hi Jim,

I take it you're trying to use the function in the Disk menu, G [Load visualiser CSV file], referred to on page 195 of the manual. What the manual doesn't say is that the R20 personalities will also have to be on the floppy disk for the function to work correctly. In addition to this the shape file should be in the floppy disk as well.

SG.DAT can be obtained here.

Top man.

Thanks John

Do I just save these on the patch disk as a text or notepad file?

You'd be best copy/pasting them from an Avolites personality disk, that way you'd avoid filename/extension errors entirely.

Got that sorted mate.

I've got the personality on the same disk but for some reason the desk still doesn't see it?

I've changed the name of the fixture on the .csv spreadshet to match the exact same to match the personality but still no luck :?

I'm sure I'm missing something very simple here....

Did you make a personality disk, or did you simply copy the r20 files to an empty disk?

The process requires the personalities in a certain file structure, see here: http://avolitesshop.co.uk/phpBB3/viewto ... =6784#6784

Code: Select all

AVOLITES
  -> FIXTURES
    -> R20
      -> sg.dat
      -> [manufacturer]
         -> [personality.R20]
