dongle error

Hi, i'm a user of avolites and i try to work with visualizer but i've a problem. When i try to connect with RS232 a message appears on the screen: "A dongle must....". I've the dongle connected on the right port on my notebook. I use Win XP professional and i've installed the XP drivers. If I try to check dongle, an error appears on the screen: "Cannot detect dongle. Extended error code: 01 00 00 00 00 00".
What can I do? Can you help me? Thanks a lot!!!
