New Personality for the Pearl Expert

Postby O'Light » 08 Jul 2008, 17:59

Hello,

It's seems that it's not possible to load a new personality file on a Pearl Expert via a floppy disk as it was possible on the other Pearls ([patch] -> Floppy in -> [Choose a Fixture] -> Fixtures on the floppy).

Can you confirm that.

Maybe a file is missing on the floppy?

Can you suggest a way to load this file without a VDU screen (only a specific file, not the complete library)?

Thank you very much for your help.

No way without VDU. You must copy personality to relevant directory. Can't remember exact path from memory but it's easy to find.

I don't recommend running the Expert without a VDU.

Custum personality file

Postby O'Light » 09 Jul 2008, 19:36

Hello, thank you for your quick answer.

Is it possible to have a specific folder in the fixture list for the customised personality files (special palettes, ...)

I think I have to edit the NAME tag in the .R20 file, if I put my folder name in the "Manufacturer Name" field, does it work?

Is it the same for the Pearl Tiger?

How many Manufacturer the Pearl 2008/Expert accept in his fixture list?

Thank you.

You can't have a windows folder, but you can make it so your personalities are all grouped by manufacturer within the software.

You need to edit the .lst file (IIRC extension correctly) for manufacturer. It should be reasonably obvious if you look in the personality folder. Again, I don't have it in front of me now and can't remember exactly.

I don't know limits.
