some questions concerning QM-500TD lighting desk

Hello,

I own an old Avolites QM-500TD lighting desk. The desk is slightly out of date but I still like working with it.

Since I have no software for the pult I'm still looking for a "current" software version so that I'm able to reinstall it in case of a software problem.

Furthermore, the operators manual says that there is the possibility of connecting the desk with a computer using the serial interface and to transfer data and custom menus with a corresponding software. Unfortunately it doesn't say more about the software or where to get it. Can I still get this software somwhere? Is there a possibility to access the shows saved on the floppy disk via computer?

Some time ago I had to learn how difficult it is still to get material on the desk and I only got the operators manual taking several detours. So if you had any material like technical manuals, circuit diagrams or other service material, I’d be happy if you sent those to me so I’ll be able to react quickly in cases of defects.

Best regards,
Marcel

I am fairly sure we still have some information on this console at work but can not promise anything. When I get back I will try and have a rumage around and see what I can find.

On the 120, that was a great place to have your STACK of cue notes and patch sheets (at least two notebooks going!! )... Remember, these were desks that were the standard of the industry long before laptops, so we were still killing A LOT of trees just to do a show!!

Nice pics- brings back tons of memories about dreaming of the day that you got a show that needed a desk that big/ powerful (!!!!)- mine was getting a QM500-90 from R.A Roth in '88 for Salt n' Pepa... I also remember Herns doing Rush on these back in the day.. Good times.

Anybody interested in an LZR 96 way? Got one in the living room :)

I wish a belated new year to all.
Thank you for your answers!

@Olie

Did you already find anything about the desk? If so, can you please contact me?

Thanks,
Marcel

Hi,

The software is on eproms in the desk.
Avolites still has the binary files for version 6.1.
Send an email to support if you want the files by email.

I should add that the software I'm talking about is the desk version.
I don't know of any other software that can be used with the desk.
