Personalities: TUV vs. BCD and playback modes

Hi,
I recently downloaded a personality for an LED fixture. When i tried to play back a rainbow shape, it did nothing (as if the desk thought that the fixture didnt have colour mixing capabilities). When i checked the personality file, i found that the channels for Red, Green and Blue had T, U, and V in their Attribute type insted of B, C and D. When i changed them to BCD, the rainbow shape works, which is great.
My qestion really, is what is the difference between TUV and BCD as i cant find documentation for TUV anywhere. Does it affect anything else other than the desk knowing about the colour mixing capabilities?
Are there any other undocumented attribute types?
Also, completely unrelated, what is the difference between mode 0 and 1 for playbacks? (i know what mode 2 does).
