hi nic,

Question1:I quoted some parts of DMX channel description from the “VL3000SP.r20”,I found several channel types, they are“L=LTP, H=HTP, I=Instant LTP, S=16-bit instant LTP,s=16-bit Fadeable LTP”,I can understand about LTP or HTP,however, what are the functions of Instant LTP、16-bit instant LTP and 16-bit Fadeable LTP?I guess, when I press patch—patch utilities-set/reset instant mode, I change between instant and fade,it equals to changing to 16-bit instant or16-bit Fadeable LTP, is that right?but what about Instant LTP?
Question2: In the banks of attributes on the pearl board, what is the“speed
thanks

Hi, there is no need to direct your question to myself. The best things about forums are collective knowledge. Others can help too ;)

You are correct about instant/fade being the same as patch/utilities. I'm not sure about difference between 16bit and normal. I would assume this was reserved for 16bit pan and tilt only but can't remember exactly the details around 16bit usage.

Again, 'speed' attribute will be whatever it corresponds to in the function of your fixture. With VL3000's this will be internal fade times for Pan/Tilt;Colour;Gobo;Beam. Many fixtures have such settings and is an alternative to using desk-based timing. The advantages are that fixtures can fade more smoothly than via desk/DMX (essentially restrictions over DMX transmission speed and 16bit resolution) and it takes processing away from the desk. But this is an advanced method of programming and might cause problems unless you are very specific. Normally these things will be something covered in training courses for the fixtures - certainly it is with top level units like Varilite.
