Fan not working as intended

Hi, I have had this issue in multiple occasions and dont quite understand why it happens:
When using the Fan function on a group of fixtures (4 rows of 4 fixtures each), the symmetry is often either slightly displaced off to the right or even slanted. Things ive checked:
-the group's layout is fine, fixtures are set left to right, top to bottom and the grid fits them properly
-i think the fixture order is correct though im not entirely sure. the fixtures are set to 1,2,3,4 for each row respectively.
-ive tried using both group options in the fan settings and still nothing
