Avolite Diamond 3

I have a diamond 3 desk that had a flat backup battery which has been replaced. A previous attempt wrecked the PCB tracks which I've also fixed.
The desk just lights up but does nothing else. Avolite tech support have said there is no BIOS which makes me wonder why there's a backup battery.
Does anyone know what the battery is for, and if there is a BIOS does anyone have a copy please?
Also does anyone have the wiring diagrams at component level so I can try to work.out what's going on with it.
