Lamp off command for Martin Entour Mac250 spot

Hi. I have a number of Mac250's Washes and Entour spots. My washes will lamp off just fine every time from the Pearl, but not the Entours. I'm pretty sure I have the instruments set for lamp control from the board unless i'm missing something. Anyone else ever run into this?

Those macs have 2 board controlled lamp offs: one is just setting shutter value to 255 (or something like that) for some time, but some users find that a little dangerous so Martin implemented a second way of doing it. That involves some more parameters (color/prism/shut) but has the same result. The macro's ofor the pearl don't include the extended way of shutting down, so that may be the problem!

To manually set all parameters to be able to Lamp off for mac250 krypton/entour:
CTC color: 11 (4%))
prism on, not rotating: 85 (33%)
Open gobo: 0 (0%) (both wheels)
shutter @ full 255 (100%)
On a pearl you can just type the value and the bottom softkeys will give you: "Assign input to:"
the values aren't in the personalities, but with notepad you can edit them to have them in the macro's. Just remember to convert the values to HEX.
good luck

Gotcha. So your saying if I have the instrument in the above state, it would indeed lamp off?

Rememer to hit enter or it won't take!

What is the definition for the shutter channel of these lamps in mode1?

The shutter channel of Martin fixtures always includes the reset/lamp on/lamp off commands. If you want to disable those functions you should check the options on the head itself. As you can read in this thread the lamp-off command can be set to a combination of parameters so it won't go off on the shutter channel alone. I think the same goes for the reset, but I'm not sure. Lamp on doens't really matter I think, since you probably want the lamps to be on when you're using the shutter channel.

if you would like to disable DMX reset and DMX-lamp-off, you must change some settings in the fixture:
PERS/DLOF ==> enables or disables DMX-Lamp-off, set this to OFF
PERS/DRES ==> enables or disables DMX-Reset, set this to OFF
If these are set to off, the fixtures will not respond to the respective commands UNLESS you set some other channels to specific paramaters
a. If DMX Reset is disabled in the
control menu
the fixture
can only be reset via DMX if all 3
CMY channels are set to a value
from 230 - 232 (91%).
c. If DMX Lamp Off is disabled in the
control menu
, the lamp
can only be doused via DMX if all 3
CMY channels are set to a value
from 230 - 232 (91%).
