I've got a Pearl 2004 that is feezing up after it's been left untouched for a period of time. Doesn't matter if something is running or not. The only way I know it's frozen up is when I go to playback something or add something and no response. Screen is frozen as it was. This console is less than six months old. Warm restart fixes it. This is about the 5th time it's happened to me on this gig, but first time while live. It's probably done it 5 other times previously, but mostly while it's been sitting in the shop while playing around. Only happens when the console has been sitting with no action (button/fader movement). Fixtures are Martin Mac2000 Profile IIs and Mac700 Washes.

Good thing I've got my conventionals for this video shoot on an Expression, or I'd really be upset. I'm in the US, Eastern time zone. I can call Avo US in the morning, but some sort of answer sooner would be great. Is there something on this console like the "Event Monitor" on the Hogs? Is it available to view after a restart?

Also, who decided not to put a ballywho in the shape generator? He should be fired....

You can check the bus errors in system mode after restart, see what that gives you.

I have spoken to our hardware department and they have said that the desk is probably feeling lonely and unwanted when you leave it for long periods of time. They have recomended that you buy a teddy bear to keep it company.

There is a known fault with the new type of RAM chips that we started using in the consoles. All new desks now use a different type of chip but some desks still contain the other chips. You will need to contact Brad at Avo America, he will then be able to check whether you have these chips and replace them for you.

The shape file is fully customisable so you are free to put a ballyhoo shape in yourself.

I am sorry for the problems you are having but I am sure we will be able to resolve them quickly!

What kind of (bus)errors would one get due to these faulty RAM modules? I still haven't completely solved the locking up of my console sometimes as discussed in another thread. Maybe this could be the same problem?

Hmm...teddy bear eh? Good thing I keep one in my work box! Haha...

Can you expand on how I would do this? Is there a section on the manual about editing the shape file?
