Setting spread values

Postby (iCe) » 08 Oct 2006, 09:23

Is it possible to set spread values for some attribute? For instance 10 movers in a row, and I want to set the focus to 0 - 10 - 20 - 30 - ... - 100. It this possible in one move, or do I have to set each one manually?

Would be nice for making nice pan/tilt spreads too, so if it's not allready in this is a request too :)

You would have to do this by creatting multiple shapes and assigning different values to each shape.

Don't really get what you mean. For example, we have also got some Zero88 Frog desks, those have the possibility to change the wheel behaviour and set it to "fan first", "fan middle" and "fan last". If you've got some movers on a row and want to make a nice fan, you just set it to "fan middle" and turn the wheel, the console computes min and max values and sets all the movers in between to their corresponding percentages. Hope this makes sence, but such features really save time :)

Hmmm. I think your post was a little misleading. While 'spread' would commonly refer to shapes in Pearl speak you mean the Fan function.

AFAIK this takes into account the order in which you select fixtures. I'm not sure you can achieve exactly what you describe but try experimenting with selection order.

Sorry stupid me :) It indeed has to do with the fan function, but you get the idea now. Maybe there could be 3 options in the screen for selecting what kind of fanning the user desires?

Unless you want those exact values; you could select the 10 fixtures in order 1-10, set all to 50%, then fan till the end two reach 0 and 100%. That would give you an even spread from 0 to 100% across the 10 fixtures.

Well in leak of the fan functions i always make 2 groups of every kind af fixture.

One group would be: 1 to 10
Other group: 5,6,4,7,3,8,2,9,1,10

If you use fan with the second group it fans from the middle to the side end the first group wil fan straight.

This does olso affact the order of a shape so for example a collor shape wil now start in the middle and wil go to the sides (use fine spread around 8-15 to archieve this)

Hope this was helpfull, just start programming good groups and you would miss the fan functions.
