Quartz and Two versions of Titan...

Postby djsky » 07 Mar 2020, 20:14

Hi, I have a quartz currently on V11.3.

I want to upgrade to v13, but with the ability to switch back to V11.4 (yes four) as I have some clients out there with 11.4 and want to be able to edit shows and transfer them over.

I have an avokey for my quartz, but not yet activated as yet.

Is this possible? If so, what are the steps I need to take?

Yes. You just need to install in ascending version order.

Install 11.4, then 12.0 recovery then 13.0 installer. This will give you 11.4, 12.0 and 13.0. Personally I would also install 12.1 after 12.0 recovery (before 13.0) so you have that too in case you need it.

Ah cool, so it gives me access to all previous versions down to 11.4?

What does the release note “only one historical software version maintained” refer to then?

Yes. 'One historical version maintained' means the highest version prior to running the v12.0 recovery will be available afterwards. If you have 11.3 and 11.4 installed before running the v12.0 recovery you will have 11.4 as well as 12.0 afterwards but not 11.3. If you only had 11.3 before running the 12.0 recovery then you would have 11.3 and 12.0 after. 12.1 and 13.0 are installers so there they don't affect the availability of previous versions.

Cheers... in the process of doing this now.... However, i've hit a small problem...

I had a 2.4Ghz Wireless Keyboard/mouse dongle in the spare USB Slot inside the Quartz, which is now being taken up by the avokey.

Is there anywhere else I can plug my wireless dongle in? (instead of the obvious mobile wing socket and the socket by the power button) ?

As far as I know there are no other spare slots inside. I have one plugged in the back but if you're using that you will need to add a hub.

Can I put a small usb hub inside and have the avokey and single attached? Or does the avokey need to be in a dedicated port?
