Can I run a show recorded in version 11.1, in a console with version 11?

Generally yes, showfiles are backwards-compatible between minor versions (e.g. 11.1 to 11.0 is fine), but only forwards-compatible between major versions (e.g. 11.x to 12.x).

Specifically in the case you refer to (11.1 to 11.0) there should be no issues, but as always it would be a good idea to test anything particularly critical to ensure it works as expected.

That said, we have had some reports of issues with loading 11.3 showfiles in 11.2, 11.1 or 11.0, especially regarding shapes. If you encounter any issues in loading shows in different versions, please file a help desk ticket (https://www.avolites.com/software/help-desk/) and we will look into it for you.

I am not sure if I have misunderstood but are you saying in in the second half of your sentence that a show created in 11.1 will not work in 11.2?

No. They are always forwards compatible with any version (major or minor). It was just another way of saying they are not backwards compatible across major versions.

Ah sorry, I can see how that might be ambiguous. I should have said that between major versions, show files are only forwards compatible (not backwards compatible), and between minor versions, showfiles are usually both forwards and backwards compatible.
