Palette Overlap

Hi all,

Where is the fixture order of my palette overlap defined. I already tried to change the groups 'fixture order' and 'layout'. When I change color with palette overlap 0% the fixtures change from left to right, instead of from the middle to the out-points (which is what I want to do).

Where do I have to change this order?

Thanks in advance,
Michiel

there is an option called 'Direction' in the pattern selection menu (All/Odd/Even)

Thanks a lot, that fixed it. Is there a way to 'save' it. When I clear my programmer/fixtures. The order is set back to none?

press and hold clear and go into clear option. You can select if clear should clear the direction as well.

What am I missing? (Working on a Avolites Arena/Tiger Touch 2)

- I select the 'odd/even/all' grey button
- Change the direction
- Changed the clear option. To not clear the Directions.
- Set my pallet overlap to 0%

But when I hit a colour from the ''colours'' window it only goes left to right.
From the middle to the out points doesn't work?

Do I need to make a ''ALL fixtures'' group with the right fixter order?

Thanks in advance!

Interesting, works for me.
Select group, change direction, set master fade and overlap, apply palette. If the group has no edited order it'll just be ordered automatically (selection order) which will also be its generic layout (I'd change the layout rather than the fixture order in this case).

Please note that direction (in the All/Odd/Even menu) originally did not apply to palettes, what versions are you both using?

I tried some more things out and I'm still having the same problems (same as Bart K described). When I change direction, it works until I clear the fixtures. Even when I have direction excluded from the clear options. I'm using titan v11.1.

I don't think this works in 11.1 but, all being well, should be possible in the next version.

So there's no other way to change the overlap order than doing it each time again after clearing?

Other question: what does the fixture order (the one you manually define for each group) specifically affect if it isn't affecting palletes?

Thanks!

I'm also using Titan V11.1

When will Titan V12 will be released?
If you say it like this there will be some nice updates in the new version.

As far as I am aware direction is not used for live timed palette recalls. So it is not about clearing but about needing a fixture order (either manually from selection or from a group)

It does affect live timed palette recalls with overlap. It is the direction that is not currently used.

Some other things off the top of my head:
- Fan
- Effects (ie. Shapes/Key Frame Shapes/'Pixel Mapper)
- Pattern selection
- Overlap in cues

When it's ready? (standard answer)

Thanks for your answer, so if I understand it correctly I can use the group fixture order for pallette overlays, I have it layed out correctly, but how do I use it for my palette overlays? This was the way I originally wanted to make the effect

Maybe just some clarification: I want to make a few macros that change the direction. When I'm busking shows I can easily change direction, palette fixture overlap and palette fade to change between my (color) palettes.

Thanks!

as for your macros: I already made them
https://www.avolites.de/wiki/macros:example:programmerdirection

Shame direction isn't working the way it is meant to be. I knew you can't save direction to cues but wasn't aware it didn't work properly for palettes either (I run all my shows off cuelists and playbacks...)
