Adding fixtures to palettes

Postby ehal_no » 04 Nov 2018, 21:34

We have made 21 palettes for our LDR Xpress 19 scrollers. But in the original configuration we had only 9 of our 12 scrollers. We made normal palettes for them. We recognise that we need them all and wonder how to incorporate the last 3 scrollers in our palettes without deleting them and build new ones.
I think deleting the palettes will give some problems since they are heavly used in the main cuelist. How to deal with this?

If you haven't done any programming for the additional scrollers then the easiest option would be to delete the additional scroller fixtures and then copy three of the original fixture to add the three you need. When you copy a fixture it copies all the cue and palette information for the original so any palettes that the original fixture appeared in the new fixture will also. After copying you will need to set the DMX address of the new fixtures which can be done either in the Patch View window or the Repatch menu. If you cannot use copy then you could consider using Align to set the new fixtures to match the values of the old however you would have to go through each palette in turn selecting the original fixtures, applying the palette, aligning the new fixtures to the original fixtures and then merging into the palette.

Thank you Gregory
The copy procedure worked for us. The xpress 19 depends on a Pending Dimmer. The way to repatch the dimmer channel was a little tricky making new dimmer fixtures with the dimmer addresses and then delete them. We repatched Pending Dimmers and got the result we wanted. :-)
