Chase Intensity Release Issue

Postby kimwida » 18 Oct 2018, 07:01

Intensity release of a chase doesn't work for me.
To reproduce this.

1) Record a cue with a fixture dimmer 100%.
2) Record a chase with the fixture dimmer 0% and make it "cross fade http" On.
3) Set the chase "Release Mask" to "I------" and "Release Time" to 3s.
4) Fire the cue.
5) Click the chase, then one more click it. It does not release but snap back.

I tried it with color and it works with color.

1) Record a cue with a fixture white 100%.
2) Record a chase with the fixture white 0%.
3) Set the chase "Release Mask" to "--c----" and "Release Time" to 3s.
4) Fire the cue.
5) Click the chase, then one more click it. It releases 3s.

Bug or did I something wrong??

Currently release doesn't affect dimmer. It doesn't make much sense with faders as dimmer is HTP and needs to follow fader. So in this case the release would occur when the dimmer was already at zero. For cues you could use fade out but for Chases I can't see a way. There is a use case for non-fader handles which has been discussed recently. I think either we need a different behaviour for non-fader handles or similar so solve this.
