Cell Control on fixtures such as the Rush MH10

Postby jhutsby » 06 Sep 2018, 19:00

Hi guys,

This may have been answered elsewhere....

The personality on a few of the fixtures that have multiple cells, such as the MH10, shows up the cells in the fixture attribute window, but not directly on the wheels when the fixture is selected. I'm trying to figure out a way to apply colour pallettes to either the beam or the ring using global pallettes. Is there a way of saving the ring and beam as seperate groups or some way of easily selecting just the ring or beam whilst busking without having seperate palletes for them?

Does this make sense?

I realise the reason that seperate cells are no longer on the wheels, just global control, as a way to reduce the amount of 'next' presses you have to do on the wheels.

Cheers!

Yes you can create a group with some or all of the cells. One method is to select the cells in the attribute editor and double tap on an empty group button to record a group (or use the record group menu). You can also select cells using syntax e.g. 1.2 Enter would select the second cell of the fixture with user number 1 or if you already have fixtures selected you can just type . Enter to select all their cells or .2 Enter to select the second cell of the fixtures you had selected. You can also use Through and And syntax with cells or after doing . Enter you can then select Odd or Even from the All (pattern selection) menu. You can also Unfold fixtures to access their cells. Whichever way you have selected the cells you can then record groups from them that you can use later.

Just to add that you could also create separate palettes just for the ring and beam (utilising the selection methods described by Gregory). This would mainly be useful if you are busking and want to minimise button presses with quick palettes.
