I sometimes do lights in one club. We have there an Avolites Titan Mobile console. The software version is 7.5, which is pretty old. What I would like to do is bringing my own computer and connecting it to Avo Mobile. Before I even try it, i need to ask few questions:

1) Is using more computers OK in terms of licence? Is it limited somehow?
2) Could some problem occur regarding device firmware? I'm thinking about possibility of v10.1 updating device's firmware to newever version and then inability of local software to communicate with desk. I don't know too much about this (is software uploading it's own firware every time like broadcom wireless cards?)

Of course, there is also possibility to install newer version on local computer, but to be honest - I'm pretty much afraid to do that because that computer (with W7) is pretty messed and slow and I'm not sure, if v10.1 couldn't be more greedy than older.

1) There is no problem licensing a Titan Mobile to multiple computers. There is no fixed limit, licence requests might get flagged if there is an abnormally high number.

2) Firmware doesn’t get updated automatically. You may get prompted to update it when you start the software however you have to open and follow the steps in the USB Expert Console utility to do so. Even if you did update the firmware I don’t think there are any that are not backwards compatible.

There probably isn’t any need to update the club software, at least not right away. However show files are not backwards compatible so you won’t be able to load a show from v10.1 in v7.5. If the computer is fairly low spec you may want to upgrade as far as v8.1, versions 9 and 10 require a bit more memory than before and for v10 an SSD is highly recommended.
