Recording color palette

I’m using a pearl expert with titan software installed.
While I was using my friend’s showfile, I found a slight difference when I tried to change color with Avolites Expert Touch. Normally, I would need to touch a group first, and then touch a colour in order to change the colour of a fixture. If I only touch colours in the Expert Touch, nothing happens. However, the colour of all the same fixtures would be changed by just touching the colour palette in the Expert Touch without selecting any group in my friend’s showfile. Is there any way to change this thing?
