Pearl 2004

Any chance someone could tell me how to display Intelligent Attributes for the Mac500, as defined by the range pram in the personality file. Works fine for studio colors, what am I missing? :?

Ian Helie.

P.S. I have Intelligent Attribute Display 'ON' "AVO+1"

Good question. I had a quick glance at the personality file (via online library, not from current APS) and I noticed one very small error: RANGE 6, line 3 is missing one space before the definition. Could this be the reason? Maybe is worth a quick edit and update through System/Utilities/Update Personality.

The space shouldn't make a difference, the desk should still read the personality no problems.

Did you get the personality from the internal cache? I have the feeling that the internal cache (included in the 1.2 software) hasn't been updated. It would be worth downloading the latest disks and caches and trying the personality out from there.

I Have tried loading the very latest personality from the very latest APS, still reacts like there is no range info.

Help! someone must have the answer ? :P

I think you're downloading the compressed disks - These don't contain range information as they would not all fit! You need to download APS disk 1 and patch using that disk.

OK, heres what I did to make it simple.

I used the cache builder, I got the file MT500M4.R20 and saved it as a cache file. I renamed the cache file APS.CMP and copyed it to a floppy disk by itself.

I powerup the desk, I wipeall, I patch the fixture using the above disk, and I don't seem to have Intelegent attributes.

Am I doing somthing wrong?

Ian.

If you used the cache builder you need to make sure you have range tables enabled

Hey, a new version of the cachebuilder!!
I've still been using v1.4.
Those new options look nice.
Now if only you guys could add a save/load function.
I spend a lot of time building cachefiles for small companies that include all their current gear, and nothing more. But if they add a new piece to their inventory I need to start all over again.

Agree, though offcourse the save function is allready there :) But it could be as simple as a small reference file containing the names of the fixture files included in a custom made cache.

Thanks Guys,

Got it sorted, I was compressing the personalitys without the range tables.

Thanks for all your help.
