Pixel mapper - can't access layout editor window

Hi,

I want to use the pixel mapper to layout and program 11 sunstrips for next show. I've patched the fixtures as 110 separate dimmers.

Now to arrange the layout...the manual says [Edit times] > select the group > [Edit layout] the layout editor window will open...it doesn't. All I can see is the layout editor options (arrange, crop grid, arrange fixtures....etc). If I press Arrange Fixtures the options appear on the softkeys - I want to use the window so I can see what I'm doing as I'm new to this!

What am I doing wrong?

Using Titan 10.1

Testing in Titan 10.1 this works for me.

There are other routes to opening the layout editor (ie. [Shapes and Effects]/[Pixel Mapper]/[Edit Group Layout]) but I suspect that the problem is the window is opening on a display you can't see or don't have connected.

After opening try going to VIEW/OPEN [Window Options]/[Move Screen] (if it is not already selected go to VIEW/OPEN [Window Options]/[Select Window]/[Layout Editor Window] first).

Hopefully that will bring it into view. Note that you can disable external displays via SYSTEM/Display Setup.

Assuming you fix the issue you are having opening the window, you may find it easier to patch the Sunstrip Active CH:10 mode as it will group the 10 dimmers for each fixture together when you are arranging them.

It was my extended screen setup hiding the windows, sorry!

But, I'm finding v10.1 very slow and laggy...before I do any proper work for the show, I'm considering going back to v9.1!

The most common cause of slowness in V10.1 is running on a system without an SSD. V10 onward requires an SSD as it saves everything you do as you go along for undo.

My system does have an SSD!

Can you limit how much is saved for undo? Or disable undo completely?

I've re-installed 9.1 and it's flying along! Would be nice to have to v10/10.1 feature but not if it won't run properly!

Any answer on whether you can limit or disable the undo memory?

This isn't normal. What console is it or, if it's a PC, what are the specs?

Thanks, Nige
