Pearl not seeing fixtures on usb

Postby Mantis1230 » 14 Oct 2017, 02:55

I downloaded some new fixtures and extracted them to a blank usb drive. When I go to patch, I can see the usb drive, but it says there are no fixtures to be found. The .r20 files are on the drive. What am I doing wrong?

Found a 1GB stick, formatted it to FAT32, extracted the 5 disks and still getting the same "no shape file found on selected drive" . It prompts to hit "enter" to continue which drops the desk out of patch mode.

Have you used one of the installers or are they individual files? The installers will create a particular directory structure and include the shapefile which are both essential. This is the recommended method and is the easiest. Alternatively, if you need individual files you can use the 'Copy 2008' tool. Instructions are included but, in short, place the .R20's and the Copy 2008 tool in the root of the Usb stick and then launch the tool.

When I try to download that link, it prompts me for a user name and password which must be different than what is used on here.

I downloaded the self extracting zip files which has just given me the .r20 files.

Also, I noticed that the file is meant for the Pearl 2008, 2010, and Tiger. I'm using a 2004, would it still be the same thing?

The username and password will be for the ones for the website if you're not already logged in. You can find the link on the Pearl 2008/Tiger downloads page here.

The APS installers are designed for floppies but when using Usb on 2004 consoles fitted with the BUM board I believe the file structure is the same as for the 2008/2010 consoles. Try using the Copy 2008 tool. If that doesn't work then just place them all in the root along with the SG.DAT file (this is included in all the R20 installers including APS).

I ended up downloading the installer which worked as intended and noticed that tool was included so at least I will have that moving forward. Thank you all so much for your help. Definitely reduced my stress when I could find the new fixtures that I needed.
