Dim To Warm... any ideas?

I'm curious about using LED fixtures for makeshift blinders on those shows that my fixture count is a little low - I'd like to be able to take something simple, say a RGBW LED par, and have the intensity on a fader. However, when the intensity is low, have the colour of the fixture a deep amber, and as the intensity rises have the colour gradually change to a much whiter yellow, nearly open white. Essentially, whenever it's dimmed it becomes warmer, as would be the case with a Par64 or something. I've been toying with the idea for a week or so but haven't thought of a way to implement it. Anybody got any ideas of how it could be done? :)

Try setting up a colour palette that looks like a warm white for when the light is dim (make sure values for all the colour components are recorded) and then create a playback that has the colours set how you would like it to look when the dimmer is at full which includes all the colour components and dimmer at full. Set the playback to mode 2 and recall the warm white palette. Now when you raise or lower the playback fader it should proportionally fade the colour values from the warm white (source palette) to the cooler white (target playback values) while also raising increasing or decreasing the intensity.
