Masters on Expert

Postby TimGregory » 11 Jun 2017, 21:09

How do you record a scene or BPM master on a Pearl Expert?

On the other consoles you use the record button but the Expert doesn't have one.

Thanks,

Or I think Alt-R on the keyboard still gives you the proper Record menu.

OK thanks,
I will give those a go.
The record button on the virtual panel gave the new record options.

As I understand this is because the virtual panel for the Expert (and Tiger Touch) is based on the 'Pro' button mappings which are slightly different to the originals having evolved as the Titan software has developed. In particular the original Expert and Tiger Touch has the top function key as 'Record Memory & Cue' and the next one down as 'Record Chase & List' with no dedicated 'Update' function key. So there need to be different menus depending on the buttons - in the original the 'Record Memory & Cue' presents a menu which is dedicated to recording cues and therefore does not have the options for [Create Cue]/[Create Chase]/[Create Cue List] but does have an [Update] softkey to repace the dedicated button in the later consoles. IIRC initially masters could only be assigned from the system menu but were later added as an option to the Record menu on consoles with the single Record button. That said there does seem to be space for a [Create Master] softkey in the Record Cue menu so I'm not sure why hasn't been added.
