Computer for mobile/one

What is everyone using for computers for Titan Mobile or Titan One? The new specs make a laptop very expensive. All in ones with the specs are expensive too. I have a list of parts to build a computer but I'm not sure if I want a rack mount of case or a mini tower (which are not so mini with a full size video card).
This whole V10 specs thing has left a very sour taste in my mouth. I bought a laptop for my Titan Mobile and a few months later they release an update that outdated a brand new computer. And makes it very expensive to replace.

If we ignore the recommended specs does it run ok on your existing laptop? If it does then I wouldn't worry too much. It may only become an issue if you are using large numbers of fixtures and/or pixel mapping etc.

If your computer does not meet the specs fr V10 no one is forcing you to use V10 .... V9 will run just fine "forever" on the machine you already have.

No one is forcing me except my clients and the LDs I hire. Everyone rightfully expects the most recent software especially if it is significant like V10.
My existing computer does not run V10, I can't even use the encoder wheels without 20 or more seconds lag.

My question was, what is everyone using for a computer? Where are you finding something affordable that has the specs?

Why are you defining as affordable?

I paid about 800 USD for my Mobile computer...

$800 is good. I've only been finding them in the $1200 range

Mine was on sale admittedly at the time

and I think it is phased out but I have a lenovo 1580 Edge2 absolutely awesome for Titan. I did however add an SSD after the fact . I think that cost me 60 dollars ? or so and I self installed.

with the issues your saying your having likely just installing an SSD will fix it up for you. what are the specs of that machine ?

Yeah, both of those have i5 processors, which is the minimum spec. And I fully expect another update to change the specs to be minimum i7 processor

Doubtful Avolites believes that the consoles won't need another hardware update for the foreseeable future . That laptop will run it just fine for years to come .

Hi,
I had a Titan mobile (now Titan one) as a backup for my Quartz running on a Microsoft Surface 3.
Nice small tablet with touch, running stable, I did not have issues with that. V10.1 is running without Problems.
