(Sorry for the long description, but Ithink it is needed to explain this strange case)
Have some troubles after installing 10.0 on "Pearl Expert Pro Upgrade".
Note: No Wing is attached.
Initially after the upgrade the console screen was displayed in resolution 1280x800 on the attached external screen.
I checked that the HUD window could be opened from "View" -> "Open Workspace Window" -> "HUD".
I tried to set a higher screenresolution from "Tools" - "External Display". The new resolution applied, but reverted automatically back (tried many different resolutions).
Found in "Tools" -> "Control PANEL" -> "More" the tool "Intel(R) Graphics and media". Trying different settings in the "Wizard" skin, ended up in an applicable resolution on the external screen (Monitor 2).
After this (and I am really suspecting these actions to have caused the problems), the Wrokspace Window "HUD" no longer opens on the external display. All other "workspace Windows" opens correctly. Furthermore the function "Set Legend" -> "Picture" does not open its dialog.
Manipulating screen settings via the "Intel(R) Graphics and media" Wizard, I can force the console to have only one display (and that also displays on the VGA port on my attached external monitor). And .... you know what ..... both HUD and the legend Picture dialog was residing open here - in 1280x800 resolution and "Upside down" - 180 degrees rotated!
So problem is that some windows and dialog's opens on a screen not existing (And "System" - "Display" - "Wing - Disconnected" and "External monitor - Connected" are both set).
The reset display "ALT+CTRL+SHIFT+ESC" is attempted several times.
So ..... to get us up and running, I decided to use the "Switch software" function to go back to 9.1.
Everything seemed OK at first glance. "HUD" is now opening on the external monitor, but "Set Legend" - "Picture" still ends up on the non-existing display.
What can I do to correctly setup my console having no wing but an external monitor where I would like to see anything displayed.
If the solution involves yet another recovry process it is OK, but I will not right now attempt that without an expected impact.
Best hopes, Finn

Having been in these situations before I would definitely say Recovery is going to be faster and more reliable than anything else. That should get you back to a good place, even if it is with the wrong external resolution initially.
Regarding setting resolution from the Tools menu I wonder if there was a prompt appearing on the wing that you couldn't see waiting for you to confirm if you want to keep or revert. Since you can't see or respond it then reverts.
So before trying to change the resolution it might be a good idea to set wing to disconnected in the system menu. If that doesn't help try going to the Tools menu immediately after changing resolution and see if you can find the application and use the switch display button to move it before it reverts.
I'm fairly sure there are some other combinations to show/move applications but can't remember exactly - for sure holding down alt and tab should cycle through and show you what is open even if you can't get it on the display.
Regarding HUD and the shell touch keyboard almost certainly this is just opening on the Wing that you can't see and setting wing to disconnected should solve. If for some reason this doesn't work you can always use the softkey window options to move the HUD but I'm not sure about the touch keyboard.
See if any of that helps. If not Gregory's probably your man!
