Preparation for changing fixtures

Some months later, I think I could upgrade my old 8 moving head to new ones.
By then, I will gather so many song cuelists that depends on old ones!!!
Well, so far I didn't choose new ones. But is there any way to prepare of this kind of things??
I don't want to reprogram all of them.

Use palettes as much as possible and tracking where appropriate in cue lists.
In particular palettes for position, colour, gobo & strobe/spin/scroll speeds. Sometimes it's useful to include focus with the gobo palettes but depends how it affects zoom (and whether you need this flexibility). After you have exchanged your fixture you can then just update any palettes that don't look correct (ie. positions, speeds and focus) and all your cues will follow.

My moving heads use 10 DMX.
And if I get other brand moving heads that use 8 or 12 DMX, no problems??

No problem. When you exchange fixtures the software will try to match up attributes/functions in the personalities and where they don't match correctly you can change the mapping.

Wow! It's great!!
So how can I do that in Titan??
Just delete the old moving heads patch and patch new moving heads??
I tried some patch menu in simulator but I couldn't figure it out.

Choose the new fixture to patch and then select the existing fixture handle. This will prompt if you want to exchange.
The manual will probably explain this better than I can here.

Thank you. It helps me a lot.
I tried several brand fixtures and I found that Pan/Tilt worked right but color channel didn't worked for some brands.
I'd better check out the new fixture's DMX configure and try it in simulator before purchase.

Colour mixing should always translate roughly ok but fixed colour will depend on what colours are available and (most importantly) whether the relevant information was available when writing the personalities.
Also don't assume Capture (or any other visualisation) is exactly the same as the real world. Obviously the intention is to try and make things as accurate as possible but this will always be dependent on the information provided.
