Tips for programming

Postby tymenabels2 » 14 Nov 2016, 21:10

Hello Avolites Forum,

This week, I will perform a lightshow using a TigerTouch with titan software V9.1
Maybe this question is very simple but I want to acchieve the following.

I do have for example a shape ( circel ) ongoing. moving lights do have a specified color ( let's say Yellow and Magenta).
Next I want to have a couple of moving heads switch to Open White color and have them fixed on one position.
After a couple of moments, the moving heads have to return towards the old values ( circle shape and Y / M color).

It is like an executer that overrides the exsisting situation for a certain time and releases it again if the executer is switched off.

I tried it with a CueList, only once I pull down the fader (kill fader at 0 is selected), the old values do not restore.
What Am I doing wrong. I suggest it is a rather simple case, but nevertheless I was struggling to acchieve this goal.

Also, If you suggest other methods how to acchieve this simple case, kindly let me know.
Thanks in advance for your tips and tricks.

record it as a normal cue (not cue list) and change the fader mode to mode 2

I don't think mode 2 will work here.

For the solo cue I would record white, position and block P/T shape, change the playback to a higher priority than the circle cue playback with release mask set to include position and colour.

Hello,

Yes I agree that mode 2 does not statisfy my demand for the action as described.
The trick was to enable cue release in one of the playback options (which are many there) in combination with kill at 0.

However I found out some rare behaviour.
Once fired the cuelist and move to another page, and then kill the cue by lower the fader to zero, the overrides created in the cuelist won't release.
If I don't change the page and lower the fader, the overrides will release
I do have the showfile saved on my desktop. I don't know if this is known behaviour or intended behaviour.

Thanks for the tip provided.

I cannot repeat this.

I used the following steps (using Tiger Touch running 9.1):

- New show
- Patch 1x Varilite VL2500 Spot, 22 DMX with palettes on workspaces enabled
- Open Colours workspace
- Open Visualiser
- Select fixture, set dimmer to full, record by channel to a playback and fire
- Clear
- Select fixture, select red palette and record cue list with one step to another playback
- Clear
- Set playback options for cuelist playback to fire first cue, kill at zero, release colour
- Select white palette
- Fire cuelist

= Red

- Change page
- Kill cuelist

= White (expected result)

Also note that I get the same results with cue release enabled although this should be irrelevant as the whole playback is being killed anyway (kill at zero).

Do you have the user setting [Playback Paging] set to 'Never Hold'? In this case, lowering the cuelist playback on another page will not have any affect as designed (the playback will show in purple).

Otherwise, if I have missed something and you have some consistent steps to repeat please list in a similar format to the above.
