Connect sapphire touch to light converse/realizzer 3D

Postby Michiel3000 » 23 Aug 2016, 08:59

Hi,

I'm trying to connect an avolites sapphire touch to light converse or realizzer 3D on my pc. I read something about ACDI so I installed it. But when I launch it, I get an error saying it can't launch the application correctly. Now I'm not getting it connected.

Is there someone who can help me out?

Thanks in advance

The recommended way of connecting Titan consoles to visualisers is to use either Streaming ACN or Art-Net, Titan does not support connections to ACDI.

Try these instructions from Nic:
niclights wrote:Art-Net or sACN is easy. It is assigned the same way as physical DMX. Art-Net starts at universe 0. So, for example, you can open DMX Settings in Titan, expand the Art-Net nodes on the left-hand side, select 'Broadcast universe 0' and then select Line 1 on the right-hand side to assign. Now anything patched into line 1 will output over Art-Net universe 0.

- Start Titan Sim and select your preferred console to simulate
- Start a new show in Titan and patch a dimmer to line 1, address 001
- Go to DMX Settings (right-click the Avo key and then press Disk to open the System menu and then select [DMX Settings] softkey)
- Expand the Art-Net nodes and left-hand side, select Broadcast Universe 0 and then select Line 1 on the right to assign

Or take a look at these YouTube videos:

Thanks for your answer, but I'm talking about a real desk. I have the sapphire touch connected to a modem and the modem connected to the pc. The IP adress of the avolites is 10.0.0.2 and the IP adress of my pc is 10.0.0.3. When I go to my dmx settings on the avolites desk, under art-net, I can see "Realizzer 3D (10.0.0.3) Universe 0" etc. untill universe 127. It mean's I have connections and my pc and the sapphire touch "are talking to each other". But when I patch some lights nothing happens...

The software is the same on PC as it is on the consoles so the steps are the same in terms of going to System and selecting DMX Settings. I would suggest that you use the same settings as shown in the second video as these obviously worked with Realizzer before:
  • Ensure Art-Net output is enabled.
  • Continuous data stream is enabled.
  • Always broadcast is enabled.
  • The correct network adapter is selected/enabled - in version 10 multiple network adapters can be enabled at the same time.
  • Add the Art-Net Broadcast: Universe 0 to line 1.

Just tried this and it worked for me.

Open the 'DMX Input Window' (from the Input menu) in Realizzer to check if you are seeing anything from the console. Assuming you have assigned Art-Net to a line and have something patched you should see green bars representing channel levels. If not then there is a problem with the console settings or network.

If you see the green bars but no output in Realizzer then it will probably just be a patching issue in Realizzer. Make sure you have assigned addresses to any fixtures in Realizzer and that they are visible (ie. above the floor!)

I tried it exactly as you said but there are no green bars in the DMX input window. So probably it's a network problem, but I have no idea what it could be...

I've done a ping command from the console and from the the pc and in both cases I got a respons so the network communication should work, isn't it?
