Hello,
I own a Titan Mobile and I'm having trouble with a temporary color cue.
I didn't use the console for some time, and in the time being, I updated the computer how runs Titan (V9 now). Today, I wanted to program a very simple feature : a color palette on a playback.
I use extensively palette with busking, and the idea is to apply a color and to remove it (and go back to previous "busked" selected palette) by hand. Exactly what the mode 2 does. But impossible to find the option in "Option Playback". Of course, there is the release mask, but you can't be as reactive as I would. By the way, I never understood this "Release mask" timing. Without the possibility to choose the release time with the fader or on the fly in some way, I can't see a nice way to use it.
Anyway, I am missing something here ? Why can't I find the "mode 2" option on a simple playback ?
Thanks in advance for any help, and sorry for my English, probably isn't as good as it should,
Best regards,
Aurélien

Re: Release cue - mode 2
Mode 2 is currently in Edit Times (all Classic consoles and all Titan versions up to 9.1).
Unless you want to use the fader to proportionally crossfade between the playback and palette colour then release is IMO the better solution. Certainly it's the way I do it - for example all colours from palettes with some playbacks that do momentary white or white/+ shutter strobe. Set release to colour (and intensity in the latter example) and it works beautifully.
The only caviat here is that I always use quick palettes (ie. not selecting fixtures or groups of). Currently if you select a fixture before applying a palette (then clear) the playback will release to the control power on value rather than the palette. This tends to be ok for shutter since the power on value is 'open' but for colours it means it goes back to white.
There is a workaround with the user setting [Release to Home disabled]. This solves the issue but does mean that you can no longer depend on controls automatically releasing to their power on values - for example with my momentary strobe example you would now need to initially set the shutter channel to open at some point (either a palette or playback) for the release to work.

Re: Release cue - mode 2
Thank you for this fast and useful answer.
I read your reply just before the beginning of my show and it really saved me.
I don't know why I didn't found that mode 2 is in "edit time" as I search in the manual. That was all I was searching for.
And thanks for the precisions about release, this is interesting. But still, I'd like to be able to customize release time on fader basis. Is it possible from the edit time menu? I'll look further next time.
Have a nice evening.

Re: Release cue - mode 2
You can set release time per playback but it is not related to fader position.
