Touring Tips

Hi All,

Long time Avo user but never had to tour with one. Just used them on a one off basis.

I know a lot of you tour with these consoles so I'm looking for advice on touring with one. What things are likely to trip me up? What's best to avoid doing? What fixtures should I originally program with?

I'm going to be touring into a lot of venues of different sizes so I'm looking for advice specifically on fixture exchange, copying fixtures... etc.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

The best fixtures to start your showfile with are the most advanced ones you will encounter on your tour, this way everyting they can do is programmed, when you program with lights that can't for example zoom, then when you exange to some who can you will need to re write all your cues to add the zoom.

For the copy part i would suggest to write a show file with as much fixtures as the largest venue because copying will i a lot of cases mess up the spread of your shapes. Just park the fixtures that you won't use

Also, and it might be obvious but worth mentioning - park your fixtures before you try to exchange them.
