Sapphire Touch faders

Postby StijnS » 22 Nov 2015, 12:41

Hi all,

Yesterday I performed ECN 203 on a Sapphire Touch. This ECN updated the firmware on the Sapphire's fader boards. Now I notice some strange behaviour.
When I change pages, and accidentally touch one of the faders while changing, the fader will not move, it will stay where it was. Is this intended?

One other thing: The audio guys are still laughing at me... Their 20 years old Yamaha 01V has 10 times faster moving faders than the Sapphire... Can the motor speed be increased somehow?

Best regards,

Stijn

Yes this sounds correct, as soon as it senses a touch it stops the motor to avoid it driving against you hand. Changing pages again will restore it to the correct location.

The speed of the faders has been reduced on purpose to ensure the noise is not unacceptable and increase the reliability. They are certainly capable of moving much faster but this has been purposely capped.

Hmm... Thanks for the reply. Too bad it's intentional, I like the way it works at the audio guy's toy more...
